RFID card not accepted

If the station rejects an RFID card, the cause almost always lies with the RFID card itself, the agreement or the charging point. With the following checklist, you go through these points one by one and quickly find out where the problem is.

1.Prerequisites

You have created a fleet and assigned an RFID card to the vehicle within it. At BGL Charge sites, only RFID cards that are registered in your own fleet will work.

2.Step by step

  1. 1.
In the sidebar, open Fleets & charging cards, click on the fleet, and switch to the RFID cards tab.

First, check there whether the card status of the RFID card is Active.

  2. 2.
Next, in the Agreements sidebar, open the Active agreements tab and check whether there is a valid agreement with the site that has not expired.
  3. 3.
Please also make sure that the agreement applies to this specific charging point.
  4. 4.
Check with the depot operator to confirm whether the charging point is available and is not under maintenance or deactivated.
  5. 5.
Finally, check the stored UID to make sure no digits have been transposed.

The UID is the technical number that the station reads, not any other number printed on a card. For RFID cards that you have ordered through BGL Charge, the UID is on the back.

For your own existing RFID cards, you can read it using an NFC reader app such as "NFC Tools". Please enter the UID in the field Unique card identifier (UID) without any spaces.

3.Result

You have now ruled out or already resolved the most common causes.

4.Note

If none of these points helps, write to support at support@depotcharge.com or use the chat under Support. Give us the date and time, site or charging point, the vehicle and, depending on the situation, the UID or card number, because this lets us see directly what the platform responded during the charging attempt.

We usually reply within a few minutes, in exceptional cases within a few hours.

If the RFID card is accepted but the charging session does not start, the vehicle is not requesting charging current. In this case, check whether the connector is properly locked in place and whether the vehicle is releasing the charging session.

Set a lost RFID card to Blocked in the portal so that it is rejected from now on. An Inactive or Blocked RFID card cannot currently be reactivated due to a known bug, so add a new one instead.

Charging sessions that have already been billed are not affected.
