Costs and pricing model
With BGL Charge, costs are incurred only when charging actually takes place. There is therefore neither a base fee nor any set-up costs, and the service fee of €0.02 per kWh is charged only for the energy actually charged.
Here you can see how the price is structured.
1.What fleets pay
As a fleet, you pay a price per kWh that is made up of the following components.
- The charging price at the site, which each depot operator sets themselves in the tariff and which therefore varies from site to site.
Depot operators may also set different prices for different fleet groups, such as a lower community tariff for all fleets in the BGL Charge community, or a bilaterally agreed price for individual partners.
- The service fee from Depotcharge, amounting to €0.02 per kWh (net), which is charged to you in addition to the charging price.
You can see the price in the portal before you charge, so you always know your costs. All prices are exclusive of VAT, with the rate and currency determined by the country of the site.
Billing takes place monthly by invoice, which we send to the billing email address you have entered.
The following diagram uses an example to illustrate how invoices, payments and credit notes are linked.
Depotcharge issues an invoice to the fleet's company, showing the charging energy and the service fee separately, and the fleet transfers the total amount to Depotcharge. The depot operator receives their agreed net tariff from Depotcharge, along with a credit note.
In the example shown in the diagram, you charge 231.325 kWh at €0.52 per kWh, which comes to €120.29. In addition, there is the service fee of €0.02 per kWh, amounting to €4.63, making a total of €124.92 net.
2.What depot operators receive
As a depot operator, your price is equal to your net revenue, because nothing is deducted from your revenue, and the service fee is paid separately by the fleet. Depotcharge pays out to your company every month once you have entered your payout details there.
The tariff that was in effect at the time of charging is always the one used for billing. If your station was offline at any point, the charging data will be synchronised afterwards, so you will still be paid for every kWh.
3.Community tariffs
As a BGL member, you benefit from special prices within the BGL Charge community. Depot operators within the community can target their agreement offers specifically at all community fleets and set a separate, lower tariff for them.
You can see which prices apply to you in the portal under Agreements before you start charging.
4.Note
The revenue shown in the portal is always net.
