Manage charging points and connectors

Charging points are the individual chargers at a site, and each of them has one or more connectors, that is, plugs.

1.Prerequisites

You have the Admin role and have created a site.

2.Step by step

  1. 1.
First, go to Depot operator in the top left and then open Sites in the sidebar.
  2. 2.
Click on the site and switch to the Charging points tab, where the list shows all the charging points that have been added.
  3. 3.
Click Add charging point in the top-right corner to open the Add charging point form on the right, which includes the Basic details and Connectivity tabs.

You can also select the pencil icon to edit a charging point.

  4. 4.
Under Brand & model, select the appropriate device, for example Alpitronic HYC 150.
  5. 5.
Under Name, enter the name of the charger so that you can find it again later in the list.
  6. 6.
Under Access type, select one of the following options: External, Internal, or Disabled.
  7. 7.
Under Connectors, please specify how many connectors, that is, plugs, the charging point has.
  8. 8.
The form now displays a separate block for each connector, for example 1st connector. The technical specifications are automatically populated once you have selected Brand & model.
  9. 9.
Under Truck charging layout, specify how a truck can charge at the charging point, so that fleets know whether they can charge with a trailer attached.

The options are Uncoupling required, Uncoupling recommended, Drive-through with trailer, Reverse out with trailer, and Not compatible.

  10. 10.
Optionally, under Positioning of the EVSE, you can specify how the charging point, technically known as the EVSE, is positioned relative to the parking space.
  11. 11.
Finally, click Save, or close the form with Cancel if you do not wish to make any changes.

3.Result

The charging point appears in the list under Charging points, and the tab shows you the current number of charging points.

Important: Before a charging point is fully operational on BGL Charge, it must be technically connected via the Connectivity tab, and our system must be integrated with the backend/CPMS. Please feel free to contact our support team for this; we will take care of all the necessary steps.

4.Note

You can also change the connectors yourself later, but afterwards the technical connection to the BGL Charge system will need to be re-established.

You can see whether the charging point is already connected to the BGL Charge system by checking the Connection status. The charging point can be used when it is connected and the Provisioning status is set to Active.

In the Connectivity tab, you can deactivate a charging point's connection, for example when your yard is full.
