Registration
As a member of the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL), you register your company with BGL Charge and verify it using your membership number. This makes you part of the BGL Charge community, where depot operators can offer members lower community tariffs or bilaterally agreed prices.
We will guide you through the registration process step by step; it only takes a few minutes.
1.Prerequisites
You are a BGL member and have your membership number to hand. If you are not a BGL member, click Not a BGL Charge member? under Continue in the registration form.
You will then be redirected to the standard Depotcharge registration.
2.Step by step
- 1.Open the BGL Charge registration.
- 2.Create your user account by filling in the fields, and then click Continue.
- 3.Next, please confirm your email address using the 6-digit confirmation code that we will send you by email.
To do this, enter the code in the six fields under Confirm email address and then click Confirm email address.
If you do not receive a code, simply request a new one by clicking Resend code.
If you still wish to correct your details, you can return to the form by clicking Back to registration.
- 4.Under Your workspace, choose whether you want to Create a new organisation or Join an existing organisation, and then click Continue.
If you are joining an existing organisation, please confirm this with the invitation code from your invitation email.
- 5.Under Create company, enter the details of your organisation and your first company.
The organisation is your company's profile on the platform. An organisation can encompass several companies, that is, legally independent firms (legal entities), each of which invoices and pays separately.
This helps, for example, companies with subsidiaries or subcontractors to manage everything under one roof. The Create company step refers to the company that the platform automatically creates for you.
The following information is required: Name of the organisation, Legal company name, Street, House number, Postcode, City, Country, VAT ID number and Billing email address. If you would like another address to receive invoices, please add it using Add additional billing email.
- 6.In the same form, enter your membership number in the field BGL Charge membership number.
This verifies your company as a BGL member.
- 7.Further down, tick both checkboxes to confirm that you are authorised to make legally binding declarations and that you accept the platform agreement as well as the schedule of prices and services.
Finally, click on Complete.
- 8.You can now start the setup process.
You can find everything you need to know about setting up your fleet in Getting started for fleets, and if you are a depot operator, Getting started for depot operators will help you.
3.Result
Your company is registered as a BGL member for BGL Charge and is part of the BGL Charge community. This allows you to see agreement offers that depot operators publish specifically for community fleets, and you can charge at their community tariffs.
You do not need any new hardware, because your existing RFID cards, charging stations, and backend will simply continue to operate.
4.Note
If you wish to set up a site in a country other than the one in which your company is registered, you will need a separate company in that country. The VAT ID number of the country in which the site or sites are located is always the one entered.
You can create additional companies in your organisation at a later stage, as described in Adjust the organisation structure. Since you cannot change a company's country yourself after it has been created, it is worth selecting the correct one from the outset.
The following diagram shows how your organisation and the companies are linked. The organisation is at the very top as the highest level and is created during the initial registration, and each company below it has its own fleets and sites.
